Yes — the kitchen and utility room each receive a minimum of 90 minutes of heat treatment. Bed bugs rarely live in kitchens — they want to be close to where people sleep — but we heat these rooms thoroughly regardless. We do ask that you remove heat-sensitive items from the counters before treatment — things like chocolate, peanut butter, and similar foods that can melt or be damaged by heat.

  • Cabinets: In most cases you do not need to remove items from kitchen cabinets or drawers — we don’t need the heat to penetrate inside them. However, if the living area furniture such as a recliner or sofa is positioned very close to the kitchen, we may request that items be inspected and pulled out of the cabinets and drawers so we can push heat into those areas of the kitchen.
